LP Notes

"I'd rather be in some dark holler, where the sun would never shine, than to see you with another...." An old, plaintive love song.

Notes

About 12 minutes of music. Hope it was cheap. And not my favorite Cisco song or performance. Why this one? For schoolkids? A song about love and jealousy? And why does it list a 1965 copyright on the LP? But there's more.... why the 1967 PC line about the boll weevil? I've heard lots of white performers, including Cisco, do this song. Was it only Negro farmers who laughed at it?
